As an employee of the PTB, you are entitled to paid annual leave. The annual leave entitlement is 30 working days based on a 5-day working week.
The entitlement is determined by the provisions of collective agreements and civil service regulations; specifically, for employees covered by collective agreements, this is the Collective Agreement for the Public Sector (TvöD); for trainees, the Collective Agreement for Trainees in the Public Sector (TVAöD); and for civil servants, the Annual Leave Regulation (EUrlV).
If working hours are spread over fewer working days per week, the entitlement to annual leave is reduced proportionally.
People with severe disabilities are also entitled to 5 working days of statutory additional leave per year.
You first become entitled to the full holiday entitlement under the TvöD/TVAöD after six months’ employment (waiting period). It is possible to take annual leave before the waiting period has been completed in individual cases. In this case, please contact the colleagues in the time recording department. Any remaining holiday entitlement is automatically carried over to the following year. The carried-over remaining holiday expires at the end of the following year or, if the holiday cannot be taken due to illness, a further three months later on 31 March.
Working students are entitled to the statutory minimum of 20 days’ holiday based on a 5-day working week. Any remaining holiday entitlement is automatically carried over to the following year at the end of the year and expires on 31 March.
